A Lot of Fun at the First BSides Prague

The first edition of the community-driven BSides Prague conference, themed The Future Already Happened, was held on April 3rd and 4th, 2024. The retro-style, underground venues perfectly matched the conference vibe, creating an amazing atmosphere.

What is BSides Prague

BSides Prague is a community-driven information security conference that brings together cybersecurity professionals, enthusiasts, and researchers. It’s a space to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and discuss the latest trends in the field. Beyond learning, it’s a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people, expand your network, and stay on top of the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape.

Cybersecurity in a Post-Quantum Future

The conference kicked off with Jaya Baloo, CSO at Rapid7, who walked the audience through Quantum Computingand its implications for cybersecurity. She highlighted how quantum technologies could challenge today’s encryption standards and what organizations need to consider for the future.

SIEM Slam: Tricking modern SIEM with fake logs.

Özgün Kültekin, Offensive Security Engineer at Trendyol, revealed a clever tactic attackers use to outsmart modern SIEM tools like Splunk. By injecting fake logs, attackers can hide real attacks and trick security teams. Özgün also shared detailed insights into how this tactic works and how blue teams can defend against it. ELLIO Gin Battle Ended in a Tie

The ELLIO team had a blast at BSides Prague. Our gin battle between marketing and threat research ended in a tie. Marketing team wowed everyone with a magical color-changing drink, while the threat research team stole the show with a deliciously crafted cocktail. Just like in real life - marketing grabs attention, but it’s the product that keeps people coming back.
