Expansion of ELLIO Deception Network

ELLIO today announced a major expansion of its Cyber Deception Network, tripling global sensor coverage with the deployment of new honeypots and monitoring nodes. The upgrade is designed to address the growing wave of internet-wide scanning and mass exploitation campaigns targeting exposed systems and newly disclosed vulnerabilities.

By expanding its global infrastructure, ELLIO strengthens its ability to detect malicious activity in real time and provide early-stage threat intelligence. The enhanced network improves visibility into attacker behavior, enabling security teams to identify emerging threats and stop attacks before they escalate into incidents.

Recon Remains the First Step in Cyberattacks

Network reconnaissance continues to be the first phase of most major cyberattacks. Before exploiting vulnerabilities or deploying malware, attackers routinely scan the internet to identify exposed services, misconfigurations, and potential entry points. Once promising targets are discovered, attackers can quickly move to exploitation, often within hours of vulnerability disclosure.

As this scanning activity grows in both scale and speed, early visibility into reconnaissance becomes critical for defenders. Detecting these signals allows organizations to identify attacker intent long before systems are compromised.

Greater sensor coverage and richer telemetry

To address this trend, ELLIO has significantly expanded its Cyber Deception Network, deploying additional honeypots and sensors across multiple regions worldwide. The expanded infrastructure enhances ELLIO’s ability to observe large-scale reconnaissance waves and emerging exploitation campaigns as they unfold.

With greater sensor coverage and richer telemetry, ELLIO delivers earlier warnings and deeper insights into attacker behavior, helping security teams prioritize threats, reduce noise, and respond before attacks escalate into costly incidents.
