At the end of 2022, four former Avast experts joined forces to establish ELLIO Technology, a tech company specializing in cybersecurity automation. A financial investment from the venture capital fund Presto Ventures, provided in early 2023, allowed the company to expand its network of internet sensors. This expansion helped ELLIO collect data and gain insights into patterns and anomalies in Internet noise.
Vlad Iliushin, an expert in cybersecurity and ethical hacking, along with Petr Kaderabek, specializing in big data and machine learning, Jana Tomasikova, skilled in tech communication and marketing, and Mirek Umlauf, experienced in data security and compliance, form the leadership team behind ELLIO's mission to reduce the burden on security teams from being overwhelmed by security alerts.
"Backing a Czech cybersecurity company with an ex-Avast team on board is a surefire way to ride the waves of success in this booming industry. The region has already proven itself as a cybersecurity powerhouse, thanks to the impressive track records of companies like Avast and AVG. With a strong foundation of talent and experience, ELLIO Technology is well-positioned to make a significant impact and become a major player in the field."
- Eduard Kucera, Partner at Presto Ventures
Security teams are overwhelmed by alerts
False positives pose the number one challenge. Security systems in today's context produce an excessive number of alerts, thereby impeding teams from promptly recognizing and addressing genuine threats. Analysts spend 10-20 minutes examining each incident they receive, with a substantial portion of that time allocated to downgrading alerts inaccurately flagged as critical or misprioritized.
About one in every three incidents we they receive turn out to be false alarms, leading to a huge waste of resources to investigate problems that don’t actually exist. Alert overload can swiftly give rise to significant issues, including high staff turnover, reduced productivity, and financial losses.
"While security analysts may focus their attention on addressing the large number of alerts generated by botnets and script kiddies, the real threat actor can easily evade detection and gradually infiltrate a corporate network unnoticed. ELLIO's solutions enable security teams to spend less time on Internet noise and focus their limited resources on emerging targeted threats.
- Vlad Iliushin, Co-Founder and CEO at ELLIO Technology
Focusing on critical threats, not on investigating random internet noise
ELLIO Technology empowers security teams to prioritize and respond to the threats that pose a real risk to their business. With its advanced filtering capabilities, the ELLIO solutions effectively screens out generic and random attacks, streamlines the triage process, and reduces alert overload. This enables cybersec teams to accelerate the identification of critical cybersecurity incidents in real time by decreasing the number of non-critical ones.
With ELLIO’s network of internet sensors, we collect and analyze internet traffic, identify attack data while tagging exploits and vulnerabilities. Through our advanced ML-engine and in-depth research, we enable organizations to gain a clearer picture of cyber security attacks and incidents.
Our primary mission is to elevate the cybersecurity posture of organizations by delivering advanced solutions that enhance the efficiency of security teams. With our help, they can concentrate on the threats that really matter instead of focusing on investigating random internet noise.
